Spend your half, put her half in a high interest account, give her her half ( minus interest) when/if she reappears. |

Put it aside and be sure to close the company if her name is on it and restart any other company with just your name.
These characters sometimes like to pop up later and claim payment for all your hard work.
Surprise her with a check for the amount she earned and say See ya later gator!
However if the business venture was not legit from the start then her conscious may have gotten the best of her then .....I have no advice for such matters.

I'd use the money to invest in something for yourself. That way it's making money and you'd have it if she ever turned up. If she doesn't you have a nice investment. After a few more years it's yours do do what you want with it. |

It seems to me that she is entitled to what the business was worth when she disappeared. If it was worth 0 then that what she gets. What ever value that it has increased since she left is yours + 1/2 of the value at the time of her walking out. You may want to get legal help, before you put 1/2 in the bank. Putting part of it in the bank may be used in court to prove that you believed she is entitled toe the amount in the bank. |

Contact an attorney for professional advice, my suggestion would be to carry all information from your venture and have paperwork drawn up showing her fair share, send a notice to her last know add: stating the results ($) of the venture, place these funds in a account for holding . This is her money. If she is deceased then she may have an aire which would be entitled. You would of course be able to deduct from her amount of money the cost of her part of the attorneys fees. good luck, but do not spend the money unless you are prerapred to pay it back immediately. |

Watch out, she'll be back! No one hates money, and don't play with another's money. Don't spend your entire half, I would rather you diversify and invest it somewhere else with good liquidity, just in case she comes back and takes her half! Otherwise, if she does that, and you have already spent your half, the venture will be history. You could keep it going by liquidating your half and reinvesting it in the venture, or you could divert your energies to the other investment. Either way, you are safe.
Contact a lawyer about protecting yourself, and clear all loopholes, but don't burn bridges, you may need her later (she may even come back to help!!) |
