There are many parts to the secret.
First Start young, and get the best education you can to help you in your working life. It doesn't matter what job you get, do it to the best of your ability, and try to move upwards, while looking for better opportunities with better options to compare to or change to.

Start right now to put some savings in a pot. If you can only afford a bit, Save it, and that same amount every month, When you get $1,000, Go to a bank and invest it in a "Balanced Mutual Fund" and sign up for periodic deposits from your account into this fund, and have all gains re-invested in the fund (the bank will explain this)

Start learning about Economics, (macro and Micro), Learn about markets, and how they are effected by interest rate changes, learn about market cycles, Learn about Financial analysis, learn about how current events worldwide, effect local markets, international markets, commodities and precious metals prices.

Remember, while you are doing all this learning, you are contributing to your fund and increasing the amount you put in, as soon as you can. Any amount you put in, you will not notice in your daily living, If you get a raise, put the take home increase into your fund every paycheque..

Write down, in a book, every item you buy for 3 months...at the end of 3 months, cut out buying the non needed stuff..You will see lots there that is not necessary for living or enjoyment of life.
Put this money saved into your account.

Make an extra nickel (5 Cents) every day. This means, be constantly looking for ways to get extra money. If you don't think about it and actually try to make it happen...it won't.
