DONT DO IT!!!! No REAL modelling agency would ask YOU to pay for them to have photos. they shoulf eb paying YOU for them.

As a teenager i wanted to do modeling and i looked into it and the main thing i was taught was what i said above, contact proper modelling agencys like strom, they are really good and may wish to see a protfillo of the work of your son, these do need to be professionally done and can be expensive, however, soem studenst will do it for free and will only chrage a lil amount for prints contact colleges in your area or phone photographers askin if they need modles for their work.

ignore it- a reputable agency will not charge you money to join.

they take their money out of the commision your son brings in from contracted work.

Its a SCAM - proper agencies do not ask for money up front. All these guys do is fill up their website at £120 a go and hope that they get calls from clients. They never do!!

Just Me Alone
No, it's a scam. A real agency will NOT ask you for money. They will take a commission on money earned from jobs they acquire for your son. Just tell them "thanks but no thanks."

NEVER pay to go on an agency's website or register of employees. If the Agency ever asks your son to pay for photos to go in his portfolio run a mile. Any good agency will do that free.

S-C-A-M! dont give them the money, anyone who asks for money upfront is a con!

Putting you on their register IS their business. If their business was to make money from getting you work then that is where they'd get paid. i.e. a cut of your income from the work you receive. It's probably a con at worst and very poor practice at best - avoid.

This is a tricky area. My son does TV ads here in Australia and I always pay his agency a fee every year to update his photo and to put his details on several websites, etc. That's normal practise here in Australia. I keep hearing that in the US for instance if you pay it's a scam, but like I said it's normal practise here for legitimate agencies to charge. These are children's modeling agencies, not top model agencies, so I suppose there is a difference. Your son is then of course not guaranteed to receive any paid work, so it's always a gamble. My son didn't get work for several years and he is now one of the lucky few to get lots of paid work. Do a check on this agency and ask them who their clients are and what work they have done, etc - catalogues, TV ads, runway shows, you name it. All good agencies will give you this information. Then assess if your son is really really interested in pursuing this avenue. Every year I ask my son if he still wants to do this work and he says yes. My daughter is young and I don't think it's for her, so I don't bother registering her even though the agency would like her on their books.

SALSA
Don't use them. There are legit agencies. NEVER pay for the priviledge. Keep looking there are others who will never charge you.

Sammie's Mom
Again... scam. They should pay you, not the other way around.
