4 months is a long time. I would mabe call the Better Business Bureau. See if this is something they are known for. |

Dude that's a long time, call your attorney and let him know about this matter, also call the better business beaureau and tell them about this contractor and call another contractor to see if they can pick up the slack !!!

Talk to your attorney. Usually, there are no guaranteed dates in construction but 4 months is getting pretty long. |

Do the trick that has worked many times in the past. Invite the contractor and his subs to a Open House in the new office building by such and such a date and see if that works. If that doesn't offer him a bonus if he completes it by a certain time. Money usually talks.
I don't know how many times folks fail to get a penalty clause written into the contract before signing on the dotted line. If the builder will not agree to one then look for another builder. If it is costing you money because he is not done then it should cost him money as well. I know that doesn't help you in this instance but it might if you ever decide to build anything again. |

Most states have a Contractors Licensing Board. They will investigate and order prompt repairs. |

Does he come to work to finish the job? Sometimes, there are reasons for being late. If he does not show up. File a lawsuit against him and look for someone else. |

Do you have a written contract with completion date? Do you owe him any money? Was there a penalty clause for non-completion of stated date? The best thing to do is try to resolve it with him to finish ASAP. Another choice depending on your state is to report him to the contractors state Licensing board if your state has one. |
