Monty | My firm is closing my office and asking me to move 41 miles to another office. Want me to move house as well?? |
What are my options? What am I entitled to if I agree to upsticks and move my family? Am I entitled to help with travelling expenses while I see if I like the area etc. Any other advice greatly recieved. |

Would think you are entitled to a relocation package and as you say assistance with travelling until you can move.
Things like estate agents,solicitors and removal fees need to be discussed.

You can ask the company, what help is given for relocation ,
extra pay for fuel, if staying put,
You can only ask, don't take the advice of some and demand
any thing, as if it's your God given right,
Because you could end up being shown the company's doors, |

What you eligible for is whatever your employer is willing to provide. Why ask this question in this forum? Why not ask your employer as he is the only one who can accurately answer your question. Remember, it's the employer's job... not yours. The best you can do is negotiate the best deal you can. |

We have being relocating to another state and the Company is paying the moving ....
Anyways ask the Company but i do agree that 41 miles in not too bad to comute ;-) good Luck. |

You may be eligible for help with relocation from your company, if they do that. Ask. Otherwise, you could commute, I did 53 miles ( each way, ) for 4 years. |

If they WANT you to relocate THEY should pay for all or part of your expense. If it's a matter of convenience for you, then YOU pay. A 41 mile commute is not bad, I did 55 for 20 years. |
