What do you both do for fun when you are together?
That is your answer. Find a way to turn your fun time, or your passions into a business. Think outside of the box and come up with some creative ideas. When you do something you enjoy - you will never "work" another day in your life.
Please stay away from businesses that you buy into. (Like Avon, Herbalife, etc, etc, etc.) Those are very hard to make work, and you spend so much money on advertising and marketing. It is NOT worth your time!

I know several couples who have their own home based businesses, and some of them are even in the same type of business as myself.
I am assuming you are based in the US and although I am in the UK some of these people that I know are also in your country, in fact they have created very substantial incomes for themselves, and have a business that is actually likely to grow faster as the economic slowdown increases.

I appreciate your question. It is difficult to find your niche when it comes to home based businesses. I floundered for awhile until I found something that I have a passion for. I am a pure romance consultant which works very well for me due to my interests. Although my husband isn't officially a consultant he does much of the work behind the scenes to keep me organized as well as marketing. I am the face of the coop, however it is truly a joint effort. The two of you probably just need to have a good hear to to heart conversation about what you are both geniunely interested in and try to find something that matches those interests. Strangely enough I actually feel guilty going to "work" sometimes, because I have so much fun that it just doesn't feel like a job.
