1. Get a dot com on GoDaddy.com with free email and free forwarding for $9.20 per year. Also enter in keywords once dot com is owned.
2. Set up the following free accounts in your business name, matching the dot com.
Yahoo Answers, MySpace, YouTube, a Blog (wordpress or blogger are best).
These FREE accounts already access millions of people per day. Plus they post things on places like Google, saving you all the effort and time.
Just make sure to keep name the same everywhere you go to get the most notice. Even here on Yahoo Answers, have an account w/ the business name and answer candle type questions, of course signing your company name/dot com. For the search engines to see it that much more.
Set up each account in a night. And then sit back and you will start to see them grow. Now of course you need to make a few candle videos, even just pictures of your product put to music. As each free site is an advertising location.
If you are on Windows, just click start, programs, accessories and you should see Windows Movie Maker. Real simple program to make your own videos with for YouTube.
And remember.... you did this all for a big whole $9.20. |

I have a candle business as well. What I would do is to go to any free website and design it as you want. Purchase a domain name, (this can be done cheaply) get paypal or some inexpensive shopping cart. Then maybe set one or 2 of your products on ebay. Remember wording (description) is everything, thats whats going to sell your product. Then if you have time, maybe have a garage sale or attend a swap meet one weekend and se how that does.
Make scent samples and pass them out to people with a business card attached to em. By that I mean grind up a candle in a puder and put it in little nickle baggies. Then you can have an online party. Have games, do prize drawings. At this moment I am going off a company site. Its www.worldofflameandscent.com
Its a bit pricey thats why I am having people pay my paypal instead of my site. It works for me. Good luck and write me if you need anymore help. |

Sell at craft fairs, flea markets, maybe sell in boutiques (they may take a percentage, but will be more likely to sell your stuff). |

Everyone has already made pretty good suggestions. I especially really like the trade shows/fairs idea.

go to a sign making company and have them make a banner with the stores name on it and hang it on a bridge that is kinda busy... also you can put an ad in the news paper or you can put a discount in the news paper... make a website and post it on Y! answers asking people to go their.... ill order stuff off the site if that is a possibility i love candles |

bring samples of your candles to use at spas, bed and breakfasts, small intimate restaraunts, caterers. You can build a website and get a domain for not alot. You can put your items for sale on craigslist which is a free advertiser. Go to bazaars, carnivals, beauty shows(spas), bridal shows, flea markets and craft shows to sell your items. |

well, small thing always can help until fund become avalible for bigger things, like post a bulletin on myspace about your shop, make print outs about it put them where evr u can around town like in walmart, place them in the windshied wipers of cars in parking lots just anything u can do, if u had 2 go door to door, and let them see products and tell a little about your self that a little extreme but hey if u need business you need it |
