You have some great experience with yor retail background and a valuable tool, your computer and the internet.
Direct sales is an option you may want to explore as you'll be able to combine all three of your resouces.
Having worked exclusively online in this field since 1998, I KNOW it can be done.
Be thorough in your search while investigating the products, companies and services out there.
Look for a fun, consumable product that people to seek you out to buy it from your website.
One that people will reorder when it runs out, and like the product so much they refer new customers to you.
Find a metor that will teach you all that they know and be there to answer your questions.
Make sure that peson is successful at what they do, and that they have mentored many other people that are also successful.

Whoa! be careful what questions you ask. you'll get barraged with answers that you may not want.
My path was to ask some people I knew, and some I ran across who were having Real Success doing just that, what the best advice they had for me. There were a few different answers, which I wrote down and used as guidelines as I did my due diligence. But mainly I checked out the business they recommended. One of them struck me as the perfect one for me. I am not a sales type personality, nor do I like to be "sold" to. I found a group of people who think like me., who were not trying to "take me fast". Every opportunity does not fit every one. find out what you love most, and see if there is an opportunity out there to do that very thing, with a paycheck attached. The next thing is to find a mentor to teach you every thing he or she knows, and who will lead you through the process until you can do it alone. I have one and we talk every day at some point. we are friends, as well as part of a family- like team. There is so much more, but I will not go any further. Why not set up a retail website - your experience and contacts would be invaluable. All transactions can be conducted from home, with all your merchandise delivered to your home, and collected for dispatch to customers if you wish - you don't even have to go to the post office.
I have done the same, and set up Fat Banana Feet http://www.fatbananafeet with very little web creation experience. I have used an excellent web hosting product from Bluepark Solutions, http://www.bluepark.co.uk/, and was up and running within a few days, They also provide fantastic support to help if you have problems (no I don't work for them). |
