It is essential for you to have thought out and articulated a plan if you want to be successful. Check with your local economic development office to see what programs are available to help you. If your state has a Small Business Development Center (funded by the SBA) they are a great resource. Don't go to a paid service to write your plan (although a government program may charge a nominal fee) . He have to be committed to the plan completely and having someone write it for you is like having someone else write your love letters. |

apart from establishing your business financially, make sure you have done some kind of small business course to help you, i'm goin through it right now, i started my business before my cousre...bad move on my part..... will be easier once i get the course sorted and actually know what to do. like tax and wages and super funds all that stuff is confusing belive me. |

You also probably have no credit so a loan is most likely out of the question unless you've at least already purchased a couple homes at that age. Build up a cash supply, your still very young and will have much more success if you give this a couple years. |

If you are to take out loans for a new business you MUST have great credit, have a 5 year business plan, and be willing to not make a profit for the first 3-4 years. All the college experience you have now is really not going to help or hurt your business. You need a buyable idea, a great location, and get marketing skills to make it. Also take a loan big enough to cover your living expenses for 3 years because due to start up costs you will probably only break even with the business. |

You may have to look at permits, zoning , licensing and all that kind of stuff before you start your operation. My suggestions would be to start out small but not too small and try not to spend so much because if your business fails then you will have to pay that back....try to run the operation on your own for as long as you can.......do your market research very well and set up shop according to your research.....good luck |
