Just tell them that would rather clean than work behind the counters. And that you didnt apply to be behind the counters you applied to clean up.
They will understand. |

Just tell them you're just interested in the cleaning position and not the cashier, they should understand. |

Calm Down!
Go to the interview. Smile. Listen carefully to what they have to say to you. When you have to talk do so slowly and carefully and with as few words as possible.
You might be surprised that the opportunity offered to you might be better than you had hoped for. Go with what your heart tells you is good and comfortable. Good luck. |

Don't worry! First, just be yourself and be honest in the interview. If the job you are applying for is cleaning or maintenance related, then that is the job you will get.
You will get an opportunity to ask questions or give comments at the end of the interview. At that point, if you still have doubts, ask if there are other responsibilities for the position--just to reassure yourself. You can also ask for a job description in writing, if it seem appropriate. It is very likely you will get the job, and over time, you will become more comfortable with the public and I bet you will want a promotion to the cashier position.
Most of all, your anxienty or nervousness is normal! I was once told when applying for a job with the
County of Orange, California (which I got) that if you care about the job you are applying for, it is only normal that you will be nervous.
Good luck |

Let them know straight up that you are in fact nervous of Customer Service in the food services area...But you would be open to the thought of it ......after learning the other areas of the job...cleaning ticket, movie stub taking, etc...this way you are not outright refusing a position in an interview.
Be as honest as you can...never lie in an interview..they will see right though you...and don't fidget ...sit straight, and don't look around...keep your eyes on the interviewer, shake the interviewer's hand with a tight and firm grip upon entering. and thank them for the time they took............also don't be afraid to ask when you may receive an answer on the job position just before leaving.
Think of questions to ask...verses not having any...what duties are required? what hours can you expect? what is the possibility of advancement with your company? let them know your commitments too...if you have pre booked holidays, wedding to attend, Sport activity you must be in attendance for...so scheduling you will be easier
And also be prepared to answer what you can bring to them as an employee. hint( dedication to the job...ability to be on time for shifts...and a willingness to learn the job quickly and accurately)
they expect you to be nervous....just do your best and good luck |

in your interview taylor your answers to how good you are at cleaning and mention nothing or negative points about the jobs you want to do. its in the employers interests to make their employers excel, so they won't put you somewhere if they think you will do better elsewhere.
good luckxxx
p.s. i would have thought you were in with a chance as cleaning is not the most popular job compared to serving |

first off calm down it is ok. just let them know that right off the bat and it should not be a problem because i am sure that more people want to be behind the counter than cleaning!!! Just make sure they know before you take the job and that will take care of that. There are other jobs out there, don't trip! |

calm down... just let the boss know what it is you want to do. the worst that can happen is he can not hire you. In the grand scheme this is nothing. |
