With 10 being the hardest, I would have to say 8 if you are going to boot strap it. Getting a liquor license is going to be you first real task. If you have some cash, you might want to start out by purchasing an existing establishment. A college friend of mine, purchased a small hole in the wall bar in Redondo Beach a few years back. He now owns a bar, along with a couple of investors, in Hollywood. So it can be done.

it would be a 10. You've gotta think financial first. Then not just owning the place, but strategies to operate and run it smoothly with revenue. And the hiring of trustworthy people, your target group, the promotions, the events you can host, the atmosphere you want, etc etc....it's a lot more planning and hard work than you'd think. specially in LA when you've got so much competition already. |
