what about investing in another house (smallish one), like a cottage or small farm - in other words a gite. You could let it out to Brits coming on holiday or anyone else for that matter. We rented one years ago and as soon as we left other people arrived so other than in winter it was never empty. All you have to do is furnish it, put in some essentials, maybe even leave some (unperishable) food there (eg mustard, sauces, jars...), games, books.... And the best thing is all you have to do is make sure it's fully maintained and not falling to bits, and you don't have to live on top of any guests and they can feel at home because they have a whole house to themselves rather than only a room in a b&b.
I would consider it if I had enough money. |

If it is near a motorway then B&B is the best option as it can be hard finding a room for the night as I have found out the hard way! If you really don't want people staying in your home then look into catering,ie restaurant,cafe or traditional tearoom. I am in the catering trade and its hard work but good return!!
