I know a few different people in the telecommunications industry. They save people money on all their telecommunication needs for both business and residential. Their market is a little different then make up and candles and lotions and potions. They market in local and long distance telephones, Internet, digital and video phones (you see the person live your talking to), they also market in Satellite TV and all the major cellular phone providers like Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, Alltel, Nextel etc. They save people money on services that they are already using and paying for each month, and can provide new services that people don't have. One way they get paid is everytime these people pay their billings, you make a percentage every single month. So it's not like the other businesses where you have to keep selling the products after the've boughten it. Once you put someone on the service, you get paid over and over for it. The companies give you a cut of their billings. It's an incredible industry to get involved in.

I remember a while back I was watching an entertainment show that had a segment about selling bags and purses from home - sorta the same set up as avon. You sign up and you become a distributer and you have in-home parties where you talk about 'em and sell 'em and get other friends signed up...but I can't remember what it's called.
Also, I knew someone that sold candles and candle accessories in the same way but I also can't remember the company name. I'd google it or something. |

I personally sell Arbonne, but I don't think that would be a wise choice for you if someone at work already sells it (you don't want to burn bridges).
However, a girl here at my work sells Tastefully Simple. If is gourmet food. She does really well. She brings in samples for people to try (everyone loves food!). I don't know how much it costs to get started, but it seems like a great way to go.
Just some advice, you should pick a product that is consumable. Something like Tupperware or pampered chef, once a client has a product, they won't get that same product again. But with Arbonne, Tastefully Simple, etc., when a client runs out of the product, they will contact you for more.
