1) Selling cr*p on Ebay... there's many books written on doing it. Here's a selection: http://astore.amazon.co.uk/jdcouk-books-21/026-4949720-3315662?_encoding=UTF8&node=21
Though the only success I've really had (twice so far) is buying up Jigsaw puzzles from the local Charity shops and sticking them on Ebay.... been trying all year to shift a couple of watches I bought wholesale off ebay to sell on for profit.

All you really gotta do is find stuff to sell, photograph it, list it on Ebay..... then post it to whoever buys it.
2) USBOURNE Publishing's "Books at Home" scheme

3) Forget recommendations in the other answers for survey sites, as usually you're lucky to make £5 - £15 a year on them.
This is one I've been trying the last couple of years (and the only way I seem to have made money online in the last 8yrs of having Internet): http://www.ciao.co.uk/reg.php?AffiliateId=5613249

Please do not act on any of the responses given until you have thoroughly researched them. I was in the process of researching the first response when I returned to check in and saw that you were getting more answers.
If you check out Steven C profile you will see he has only joined today and his 5 answers thus far are identical to the one given to you. Next click onto the link I have provided and alarm bells should start ringing. Next do a google search for this company 'rippedwallet.com' and you should begin to see what the true picture is.
I repeat don't take any of the responses on face value.
Good luck.

I sell Mia Bella Candles, and I love it. I'm not getting rich -- yet! *laughing* But I am contributing quite well to my family by selling something I truly enjoy -- scented candles. And the great thing about these candles is that they're made of a vegetable-based wax that not only burns clean but is made from products produced by American farmers. I feel good being able to help the American economy by selling an American product.
If you enjoy scented candles, check it out!
