Wanting advice about starting a possible online, home-based business. Currently a 3rd shift, part-time college student and wanting to explore this possiblity. Skills include excellent typing skills (80+wpm), desktop publishing skills (can easily create professional brochures, memos, pamplets, banners, etc), data entry, basic accounting, and web design (with Microsoft FrontPage). I'm sure this market is over-loaded with other business, but I would still like to see if I could be successful. I have most, if not all, of the required software/equipment such as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Package Suite, scanners, internet, digital camera, etc.. My question(s) include: How would I successfully run and advertise my business? How and what services should I list that I can perform? How would I know what to charge compared to other "online" businesses? What legalities/liabilities should I be aware of? I'm limiting my investment to $0-$100. Thanks.

I would want to do this business part-time, but at least 30-35 hours a week. I can devote about 2-3 hours per day (Monday - Thursday), but then work all day long on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. I have always had a love of doing these types of jobs for friends, family, and organizations that I am affiliated with, but would like to be able to earn an income if I could be successful. |

Not too long ago I was in the very same position you are now. Working full time as a teacher, going to back to school full time working on a Master's Degree and I have 3 children. I was looking for something that would bring in a little extra cash.

Hello! There are a lot out there for you to evalute and a lot of unintelligent people on here who will say they are all scams. I work a home based business and I am successful. I work very part time/spare time. We have a very simple system in place. If you follow it, you will earn money. If not, you may still earn money, but the system is really fool proof. You get training in your area, as well as a mentor. It is worth a look though! |

There are several options available for home based businesses and several are scams that take your money and leave you wondering what happened. Trust me, I was in your position. If your serious about working a home based business and making an actual income that is worth your time, I can assure you that your limited investment of $100 isn't going to get you far. You might as well start selling make-up and having home parties. But if your serious about a BUSINESS, you must treat it just as that. Look for something with a good support system, something that provides testimonials of successful home based business owners. Find something that fits todays trends and what people are REALLY spending their money on. I don't mean household appliances or jewelry either. Look for a business that offers a real product. I know there are real home based business's out there that are not in "network marketing" or is an MLM or Pyramid scheme. Just be diligent and I guarentee you will find what you are looking for, if your really lookning. |
