Try keeping the candy at 75 cents, and the air heads for 25 cents. Everything else seems good. |

In a typical business, you would buy a item for $x.00, then sell it for twice that much. So, if you paid $.50 for an item, you should sell it for $1.00. If you keep changing the price of your items, word will get around that you can be chewed down and you will not be able to meet your expenses (the cost of the items you are selling). If people balk at your prices, move on to the next customer. As you have already seen, there are people who will buy. |

I would say that your fun-dip could be lowered to $0.75 and maybe also consider selling your air-heads at $0.25 a piece because some of those things you can get at the store for less than what you are asking...and that's where i would get mine!! (lol, j/k) As long as your still making $ that's good you don't always have to sell things at their highest as a matter of fact the lower your price the more people are going to buy!!! |

You could buy peppermints for 25 cents on clearence at the grocery store. Sell them 10 for $1.00. The bag comes with 100. I have made 30 or 40 bucks so far like this, I have been doing it for 2 weeks. |

Get your candy at Costco. Prices are dirt cheap when you buy in bulk, so your profit goes up. |

What you want to do is price it in a way that you are making money, but you want to price it cheaper than the vending machines or convenience stores around your school offer it for, so there is a reason for all the kids to buy their candy from you instead. If your prices are the lowest, they can't complain, and you have no reason to lower it..... you know they can't get a better deal anywhere else, so even if they say no at first they will be back later.
To maximize your profit, buy your candy in bulk if you are planning on doing this for a while. Get your parents to call the suppliers and see if you can buy a whole case at wholesale/retail price. If the company will sell you the chocolate bars at $0.25 each instead of buying them from a store at $0.50 each, you are already making a lot more money that way.
If you can't get a supplier directly, you could use a wholesale store if there are any near you like Sam's Club, Costco, etc.
Keep using whole numbers like $1.00 or $0.25 so that it's easy for kids to get the money. It's pretty hard to get $0.99 in change. |

1st of all why would u sell random candy in school? Normally when ppl see candy in school its for a club? Does the school know ur doing this? The only way to make more money is to sell it for more & dont lower the price for anyone...those prices sound pretty good though...a hersey bar cost like 56 cents so ur making close to 50 cents on each of those...25 cents for gum is a good price...not sure about the rest of the stuff |

Frankly, you are selling your pieces for the upper limit of what most people would be willing to pay for them. I would not try to sell them for more, as you will probably just get fewer people who are willing to buy them. |

well your still over pricing try gum for 10 cents and air heads for 25 cents and teh chocolate for 75 cents and the fun dip for i dnt know 85 cents....you are not going to make money if you over price it. and two did you know that if your caught by a teacher or the principal you can get arrested for doing that.. it is illegal to sell other food besides the cafe food unless you have a permit from the school board... |

Lower the price of the Milky Way (Personally they taste like s*** to me). And the price of the fun dip. |

No wonder you are losing. Even though costs have gone up, candy is something you can evade paying high prices for by buying in bulk. You shouldn't charge 50 cents for an airhead.. wow jeez
You can do this.
when i was in school they were 10 cents, so you go 30 cents or 4 for a dollar.
You will sell more.
Milky ways...50 cents
hershey bars also 50 cents
come on, in every business you have to learn how to GET customers reeled in and these prices will still make you money. If you start high, you will LOSE big. Start low and once you got them hooked on your product then SLOWLY rise the price brotha because in marketing people usually give free stuff but in school you don't have to. I used to sell packs of gum in school but i bought them in bulk from wal-mart and sold them lower than the costs in the machines. Sell low, you sell more and make money. Once you are selling so much you can't supply the demand anymore then the prices go up but still be cheaper than the machines even if it's by five cents. Save money for the unpredicted. |

you need to use the supply and demand method ask them a fair price but don't give them the exact price they want |

That depends on the supply and demand. If you are selling all you have at the prices you set, you might be able to sell the same amount for a higher price, but if you can handle more stock you might be able to sell more for the same prices.
Maybe you should not actually be selling candy at school? |

Make everything the price that regular candie bars are and then subtract .50c |

Buy the candy in bulk (so it costs you less per piece) and price it similarly to store prices. Most people will pay 1.00 for a candy bar. Generally speaking, your prices should be double your cost, but if you wouldn't pay that price, don't expect others to. Also, check your school policy on this - if you're not selling it for a fundraiser, you might get in trouble if you get caught. |

make everything 5 cents or 25 cents moe if your ambisous and try selling to elementary and high school students too like on the bus or something |

I would keep it at a 1.00 for everything. All the kids buy it from you because they need it that moment, because they could probably get it cheaper at the vending machines. |

Sell ur candy really cheap. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION should always be first then profit, but still think of profit. How do I know this? I used to sell candy and was a pro at it and got many customers who were interested in buying. I was the best in two different schools I went to and competition can't beat me. They end up failing because items were priced at a dollar. What a rip off.
What u must do first is think about the customers and profit at the same time. When u go to a store, look for candy in bunches u think people will buy. Then when u see the one u want, start doing the calculations. Look at how many there are and the value in size of each candy and think of a good price like m&ms and skittles for 65 cents then multiply how much ur selling it for by the number of candies in the box. If ur total is higher than the price of the whole box then ur good. Ex. .65 *# in box= how much u make. If u just want money and money big and fast then rip them off and pray they buy. (I'll give more tips later since its late)
