Scout | Selling stuff on E-bay,? |
I was thinking of selling stuff on e-bay and sending out advertisments around the neighborhood to help people sell things on e-bay for a fee. I know there are stores that do this, but they cost money. Can this be something that I do by myself? |

you can do it but.
to be any good at it you have to know ebay inside out.
also most places that do this have two fee's they get paid.
a listing fee and a fee for selling the item.
My advice to you is look over ebay and sell some of your own items first and when you are good at it then do it for others.
you dont want to have big dreams and then be stuck with a bunch of mad people and fee's you have to pay.
And last time I looked most of those store that sell for people have closed down because I can sell my own stuff for a .50 cent list fee and and keep 100% of the money. |

You can sell stuff on ebay, and you can put advertisements in our neighboorhood if you want - dont know wnay shops that do this though. If you have a website you can put other peoples auctions up and maybe get a little money for doing that, although not many companies do this.. |

Yes, you could do this...just be sure to charge enough to cover your costs: listing fees, shipping costs, etc...
There are always all kinds of issues that will pop up with this, so be prepared to answer...what if the item doesn't sell? what if it's broke or gets broke in transit? what if you don't make what the buyer wanted?

Yes it can, but I would recomend selling it on craigslist
You can sell it in the area you live, so you don't have to ship things around the country, plus you don't need an account or anything like that. Just your E-mail address. I have sold couches, TV's, Games, movies and furniture. It was a lot easier than when I used E-Bay. |

yeh,you just need to put the time and effort into it. ..get in contact with Ecommerce and you can arange to visit them and see a business advisor for free and they will give you guidance.

the business advisor i useded to visit was very helpful and gave me alot off guidance
my plan of action from step one would be
1) set up ebay and paypal account
2) arrange some form of advert, weather it be to design a poster or adverts in local paper etc
3)before posting adverts, sort out means of clients paying you,and think about how much you are going to charge ('percentage of final selling price' would probly be most viable method for this sort of thing)
4)send out the adverts etc
i beleive this to be a rather simple money maker to start up. good luck |

of course and by the question you are asking, you would be doing what those stores are doing. Make an account, get use to the feel, sell some stuff, and help other people sell their stuff. |

yea. i do that..but only with family. But be careful, on to get the ebay prices first and see how much they will charge you and then set your prices, so you do not loose money..ok |
