Selling to a beginner in eBay?
Hi, someone bought my new Wii Fit for $160 using PAY NOW button on eBay, someone with no previous record of transaction. I contacted this person for an extra payment of $3.50 for shipping insurance (required for all shipping options) but there has been no reply for the past four days. I'm thinking that this person changed his mind because Wii Fit retail price is only $89. How can I protect myself as a seller? I'd hate to send it to him and go through a dispute procedure. PayPal now allows for 21 days after the purchase for a buyer to file a dispute, so...

Wait and make sure that he sends you a invoice first! In it he should tell you all the instructions and when he'll ship it to you and what not. I just sold a USB memory drive and this is my first time ever selling anything on ebay, I have to say it was pretty confusing. Did you check out their rating? Good luck! email this person and tell them its cheaper in the store. probably this person changed their mind because they didn't price them out and now they don't want to pay you they don't have any history simply email them and ask them for conformation tell them this is due to the fact they have no eBay history and its part of your policy

How about not charging $160 for a $90 dollar item. or here is an Idea it if the buyer has already paid pull the 3.50 out of your wallet and keep the rest of your $50 dollar profit and be happy someone was stupid enough to buy your over priced product.

Sometimes when you are new, you are clueless. Email the buyer twice a day regarding this. Apparently the buyer paid for his item so you will need to send it regardless. Most of the time they don't even know or remember to leave feedback. If you wanted to include insurance you had to add that on the invoice to begin with. You actually can't just request and require him to pay it. If I were you, I would send his item as soon as possible because it's completely against the rules to hold it after they have paid. I have sold to many "new" members on eBay that have no feedback and vice versa. Never once have I had a problem with them.

more than likely they wont pay because the price is way too high. they will just take the negative feedback.
