Many, many people love Avon, however with 20 million reps, do you know how many you will be in competition with in your area? There is absolutely nothing wrong with the product or the company and it's great to get with a highly regarded company but if your area is all ready saturated, it may be difficult for you to get started. I found that out the hard way when I joined a company first and then found out there were reps everywhere in my area.
As you do your search and research, I would invite you to read a couple of blogs. Neither is a COMMERCIAL for anything I do, just some good straight information that should help keep you out of trouble and help you locate a company that works for YOU. One is called 'advice for working from home" and the other is the "MLM legality Test". A link to both can be found on my profile page here on answers. Also please understand that I DO NOT recommend any google ads that may be placed on my blogs.

My Aikido instructor (a woman) used to sell Avon door to door in my area. She did very well at it. Since then they have vamped up the range and there's plenty of opportunity to get a nice little side income from it.
I think it depends on you - do you like the idea of selling cosmetics, can you sell, can you strike up a rapport with people, do you know something about cosmetics? |

avon is all right, but you only really get a steady income if you get a wide (really wide) client list.
if you're only selling it to like, 5 ppl, you wont make hardly anything.
so before you start selling, have a big list of ppl who are interested.
idk about other companies, i think avon is the most legit.......... |

My research and knowledge from my former Avon ladies tels me it is very difficult to make a profit and a lot of work. I started a business with Mary Kay. I love it. No parties to submit, no sales quotas, no territories. It is dual marketing you buy directly from the company for wholesale ($1) and sell to customers for retail ($2) making your money immediately.
