E-bay itself isn't really the problem. It's the predatory sellers, mixed in with, and sometimes indistinguishable from the legitimate sellers, who pose the problem.
Find your item. Then, look at the seller's feedback rating. Try to get as close to 100% positive as you can. Either way, look at their individual feedback, not just the rating. Read each transaction and look for recurring complaints, or patterns, in the buyers' comments.
If you start to see the same problem being complained of repeatedly, steer clear of the seller. Sellers with high positive feedback are generally your safest bet. Beware too many responses by the same buyer, as this may be a feedback-boosting ploy.
Pay with paypal and you may have some protection if you do not receive your item, or if it is received not as described. Look for buyers, who do not stipulate "all sales final, as is" because they have a higher chance of being something you really don't want to buy. |

It's the most reputable site for online auctions. If you can't trust ebay, you can't trust anyone. |

Yes you can trust ebay itself, but beware on what you are buying and If you doubt the item you can always ask the seller questions so you know what you will be getting for your money. The website itself is safe. |

If you mean do you trust buying from a seller on Ebay, that depends on who seller is, their past feedback and their terms of sale. As a seller on Ebay I would not trust them as far as I can throw them, the customer service is non-existent and the fees are crazy for a website that does nothing but host text and photos. |

I only trust specific people on ebay.
Under their usernames are percentages of positive feedback..
and what i usually do is check their percentage and read through some of their positives and/or negative feedbacks.
then think if you can trust that person to get what you want to buy.

ebay is almost 100% safe. Aslong as you pay via paypal you will be protected up to £150 no matter what, dependeing on the sellers status up to £500.
You have nothing to worry about just make sure you no exactly what it is you're buying and you've read the small print.
If the price is too good to be true its probably a scam... you get what you pay for. |

I don't trust ebay at all.
And the shipping costs are phenominal.
Only buy things on ebay that you absoutely cannot get in your area. Stupid morons like to get clothing, cell phones, etc. on ebay, even though they sell those anywhere, and would cost a lot less. |

For the most part you can trust ebay. I have been buying and selling on there for years. I have had a few problems, but not too many. REMEMBER to check their feedback. That is really important. I never buy from anyone who has sold less than 20 items and NEVER from someone who has less than 100% positive feedback. I even bought two cars from there. |

eBay is trustworthy, just make sure you check the sellers feedback. I have had many great experiences on eBay, finding things for a darn good price and in great shape! |

It depends on sellers themselves not ebay..if you pick a good reputation seller, you'd trust him but don't bid on sellers with bad reputation, last week i bought an item on the site and am waiting to receive it, although the seller's reputation was 100% still i am worried. |

We've gotten incredible deals and also deals that were a little shady. Just check the sellers feedback, ask many questions, do your research, use paypal, get insurance on shipped items and you should be okay. |

only trust them if they have good feedback, i only buy off people if there 95% or more |
