Stop and Shop is a good place to work. I got the job when I was 15 and have been working there for over a year. its also the union so they cant take advantage of you or anything. you also get raises and paid vacations after a certain amount of time and you get paid on holidays. its fun! the people I work with are awesome! you should so work there =)

Good you asked.

To get a life, you need a job. To get a job in today's teenage and college aged job market, you are pretty much screwed.

I have a better idea. One that I have been kicking around this place any time I get a chance: START A BUSINESS!

Screw the job market. Just get out of the cage, and get in the boardroom.

What you need to do is do a SWOT analysis. Find your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and those of your competitors of the industry you want to get into.

You need to convert your weaknesses into strengths, and your threats into opportunities. Then you need to match your strengths to opportunites and vice versa.

Next, you need to find an industry that is easy to get into, start up in, and can guarantee fast break even and is long lasting. That means: NO airlines, NO railroads, NO interstate trucking, NO drug dealing or pharmaceuticals, NO piracy or file sharing, and NO securities.

But a good industry for your generation is Internet. Find a job to do, such as design web pages, develop new formats, create web software for shareware or freeware (but put ads on the download page) or an internet yellow pages site webmaster.

I'd actually suggest against those hyped up 'read emails and get paid', 'answer offers and get paid', and 'internet/affiliate marketing' schemes. They're just that. They're schemes. They may work for some people, but they don't work for all. You need something legitimate that the government won't try to screw you for.

Also, you need to do something that feels right. So if you hack, knock it off, that will get you sent to Gitmo.

Next, you need a business plan. I can't stress the business plan enough. Get a SCORE counselor to go it over with you, and seek financing. Get all you need from the bank, the computer and office supplies store, and any bookstores with books on entrepreneurship. Don't look for books by copywriters, those in my experience are bad books. You need stuff by people like Jack Welch, Tommy Franks, Sun Tzu, Jeff Immelt and the like.

After you work for a couple of months, you should break even. Then you can pay off all your loans, computer and office debt, and the cost of hiring more employees.

Once you get big enough, you will need an office.

Don't forget to keep records, or else the IRS will be a pain in the neck.

Finally, have fun while you're at it. Just don't give up if the going gets rough. Entrepreneurs who are successful are because they are tough and resilient.

Study the Art of War if you can, it can get you valuable advice. I studied it so I could go join ROTC, which I couldn't because I went to the wrong university (heh heh)...

Good Luck and God Speed.

well, i would reccomend the movies, because its a really fun enviornment, (unless you think bagging cans is exciting). but i, when im old enough, would wanna work at a fun place where you could work/see/talk to friends, liek the movies.

m b
movies would be a cool job

[samurai]
u have a market basket, u must live in MA like me lol
i would apply for market basket since they let ppl that are 14 work there! but then again, working at the movies would be cool too, but u prolly have to be 16 or maybe 18..

stop and shop is easy and fun. i worked there. u will love it

If you are in the age range than movies, you can go to free movies, and thats awesome. I also know that Chick-fl-a hires age 15 and older in AZ

From experience do not do cashiering at stop and shop or any large supermarket, it is h*ll. Try to get a stock position.

Movies would be better, unless you have to do concessions, and deal with angry people trying to get to their movie on time. And then you have to clean up after them, yuck.

I have never heard of market basket, if it's a supermarket look look at the beginning of this post.

Perfect jobs are like sporting goods and clothing stores. Cashiers don't have to scan 100+ items and its mostly stock.

I got the answers!
