I am only a Freshman; and I have chickens for FFA in the Spring until Fall. I need to find something that I can build and sell in the Winter and so forth. Something that people are actually going to pay money for. I live in a small community. I love animals and I live on a farm. I also like working with disabled people/needy people. I also like to build different things.
Anybody have any suggestions. I am stumped.

You've had some interesting answers! You don't say if you have laying hens and are selling eggs, or if you are just selling chickens. If you are selling eggs, why not sell all year? If they stop laying in the winter, try setting up a light in the pen on a timer. We did this in the winter with our laying hens. Put a light on a timer for about 4-5 hours before dawn to increase daylight hours. This will encourage them to continue laying.
What about another animal project, if not large animal, then perhaps rabbits?
Building would require determining a need for something, plus buying material.
And finally, usually working with needy people is usually a charitable act, not a paid one. Perhaps you could focus on community service in the winter, and chickens the rest of the time. Good Luck! |

1. You could start writing a free Google IBlog. Then add Google Adsense to make money.
2. You can open an eBay account. The things you like to build... Search and see if you have a market there.
3. Use http://www.mycreditadvise.com to learn how to set up your own web business.
