I would like suggestions on how to set them so we can definitely know that it's them who is stealing. I have a small business and can't afford cameras. Thanks

The registers go lock, however, when they open for incoming cash, there's the problem.

You can get some very inexpensive cameras that are disguised as a clock or whatever. Under $150.

Your first and best option would be to setup security cameras.
You could also get the invisible dust that banks use to identify bank robbers and apply it to the money.
It only shows up under black light...
But if it is someone who handles money anyway...that may not tell you.

I guess it depends on how much cash you are losing, as to whether or not you want to purchase a small camera.
Check out this website.....they have camera so small they fit in an eye of a stuffed animal....or where ever you can place them.

spend abit of money and get yrself a cam and tape set up. it will help in the future with other employees that try to steal.

put in a hidden camera.their a dime a dozen these days and you can hide them anywhere.

Go to radio shack. You can buy a cheap camera system for around $100.00 Set it up over the cash register. Install it yourself when the store is closed and don't say anything to the employees.

Or only have one person responsible for taking cash and going in the register.

put extra money in there and if it is gone the next day you will have all the proof you need.. that one works I do it all the time..send secret shoppers in too...

Webcams are really cheap nowadays. You just need to be clever at hiding it. If you can afford your computer you can afford a webcam.

make each employee responsible for there own drawer and if they keep coming up short deduct it from there pay.

Depending on how much is being taken, maybe you can't afford not to have cameras. They will not only protect your internal theft but external theft also... and they should be tax deductible and give an insurance credit. Shop around. Also see if you can rent cameras for a week or two as a trial.
