You have pretty good lists above already. What I really do recommend though is (and I'm not joking), a pack of golden star stickers, and a pack of jelly babies (!!).
If she's going to have a lot of people working for her, it's a great idea to have mini-treats. Whoever does the best design/project gets a golden star or something, and the most productive person in a quarter gets the jelly babies. They're then out of the list for that year, and then others compete etc.. .
Yes, this sound quite crap, but it really does motivate people! When you have (however stupid it is) a managers prize, people do actually at least half try to work for it! But the main thing is that it rewards the hard workers, and gives them a fun, tongue-in-cheek incentive to keep on going! |
