I thought about making candles and stuff like that but I know a lot of people have done that already and gift baskets can be kind of pricey to do and would only be good at certain times of the year. I just want my own money and that way I don't have to ask my husband all the time... which I do. Lol I love to spend money.

I'm sure that you have probably thought of this already, but a great way to earn extra income and stay at home with your children would be through having your own in home daycare.

If that isn't what you are interested in you could maybe check into subcontracting through a local factory. Often times factories will subcontract assembly work and so on. The pay probably isn't the absolute best, but you would be bringing in extra income and would still be at home with the kids.

Good luck with whatever you decide!!!

Have you tried selling Mary Kay? its super easy and you can totally do it from home....I work and I sell Mary Kay and when I really work my Mary Kay products I can make more in a day than I make in a week at my full time job! you should look into it at www.marykay.com.......If that doesn't intrest you try an at home daycare! its fun you can be with your child and make lots of money and lots of people would rather put their child in an in home daycare than in an actual daycare facility
hope this helps

try going to this web site: transam.com and they will train you to be a transcriptionist, which can bring in alot of extra money, that is if you can type pretty accurately.

Wow that is a tough one. There are a million and one biz opps out there that will promise you all kinds of money. Most of them do not live up to that. I know of a few sites where you can look around and see a few different ones next to each other so you can compare them. My favorite is www.my-mall-at-home.com, another good one is cybermomz.com. Do not let yourself get talked into anything you are not comfortable with. And unless you see a specific person's name, do not request information. Your info will get sold over and over, and you will end up being telemarketed constantly. If you see a specific person, that is the person who will contact you. It makes life much easier.

If you have a hobbie you love, you can turn it into a business. or do you love the challenge of sales everyone seems to be seeking sales people. Existing businesses are not only looking for sales reps but independent contactors so you can set your own hours, which is great for a busy mom at home. If you have something you love or are interested in, even if it is cooking - there is catering career you could start. I have one friend who makes individual fancy cheese cake balls - in every flavor, Sells them by the dozen. They look like a giant icecream scoop in a paper cupcake cup and they are wonderfull everyone seeks her to buy for parties and to take to events and weddings. Her busiest time is during the holidays and she isn't only creating her product, but she is the sales dept and packaging and delivery too. She is one busy chick. Just have to find your passion. Beware I too have a home business and it does seem to take over your home at times. Plus you never get away from it. You may find yourself up working at 2am. Good Luck !

in order to start a home business u need to find an interest and go with it. For me as a mother of 5 my interest is in the travel industry.

This opportunity is through YTB Travel Network, a licensed and publicly traded company, I receive huge savings on my own travel and vacations. This exciting opportunity allows me to make a substantial income.

Here's yet another edit attempt:
Okay, I'm going to try to get creative here and re-phrase some of my links so this will go through. Apparently I've had a problem with providing non-yahoo related information. :) (Here's the source I found for the problem I was having: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ap.LO4tGc_78TGldorAWWw8jzKIX?qid=20070620234217AAfHSNI)

There are two different types of work at home income. Work at home JOBS are like telecommuting. You have a boss and guaranteed assignments. You get those done in a timely fashion and you've got a paycheck, and you probably don't have to pay anything (unless it's something like transcription work and you're paying for your equipment). But your time isn't as flexible with this type of work. You can find legit listings in the telecommuting folder at (here's a broken link, just put it all together to get the actual link: w a h m (dot) com.

Then there are work at home BUSINESSES. These usually do require some sort of money from you but this is okay if you are paying for products. Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Avon are some of the well known one for this type of business. I'm in Watkins (it's been around since 1868 and provides the best quality kitchen spices, mixes, etc. in my opinion!) When you join one of these companies, you are paying for your business to get started. You can't start a business without something to sell, material to provide information, etc. If you are paying for this type of thing it's okay. The amount you pay depends with each company. You should be very sure to know exactly what you are paying for. These can also be fun when you get into something you enjoy and if you want, they can get you out of the house as well (if you want to do parties, they certainly aren't necessary).

Now, I stress that you should NEVER have to pay money for lists of "prospects," just for "information," etc. You should only be willing to pay money to a very reputable company for products. Anything else is a scam.

Now that I've made clear the two different type of work at home opportunities, you've got one of the most important things to figure out: What are your passions, hobbies, etc. What do you naturally enjoy doing? Any type of work you do from home needs to be something you won't hate. It doesn't matter if your neighbor is truly making a million bucks with ease with some company, if you don't naturally enjoy doing that type of thing, you're going to be lucky to make $10. Does this make sense? Think about what you like to do and go from there. There is something out there for nearly any type of niche. For example, I love to write so I went into newspaper work and then started to freelance once I quit my job to be home with my children. I also love to cook so Watkins is a great fit for me. Also, I enjoy helping people so I started doing web stuff that provided resources for people (see my profile).

Okay, the last thing: There is one thing that you can do that won't cost you anything. [A broken word] G o o g l e [another broken word] a d s e n s e can be set up for free on a free blog and you can make money doing this. BUT it takes time, time, TIME and patience, patience, PATIENCE and WORK to see significant income this way. It takes a while to get the kind of traffic you would need to make this a reliable source of income.

If you're looking for ideas on legit opportunities, I suggest you check out w a h m (dot) com. They have SO much information there and have been a big help to me. I hope I've been of some help!
