In the UK you can use the link direct to the Patent office and avoid paying anyone else just yet:
http://www.patent.gov.uk/
and search in 'Trademarks' area, 'by mark text'
Even if you're not registering one, its quite an interesting read. |

YOU NEED TO GET A PATENT LAWYER. ACTUALLY ANY BUSINESS LAWYER CAN DO IT. HE WILL DO THE COPYRIGHT SEARCH FOR YOU. IT WILL COST THOUGHT. I HAD IT DONE ONCE ABOUT FOUR YEARS AGO. IT COST ABOUT 300 DOLLARS. |

You don't copyright names. You register them as trademarks or service marks. The procedures, forms & fees can be found at www.uspto.gov. You can even do a preliminary search for similar names there. Suggest you also do a Yahoo/Google search too, and a search in whatever state databases your state has. My guess is you'll find similar names to all or most of your choices. THis does not mean you can't use them in another location or for a different product or service. But you need to talk to an intellectual property lawyer to get an idea of just what you can do. |

I liked the Sarahndipity someone suggested... Do a Ask.com and type that in to see if any other business has it... that should show up a list of businesses with a similar name if not exact name...I doubt there'd be one with Sarahndipity at all....that's very original.

Copyright doesn't apply. Check with your Secretary of State and see if those trademarks are registered (protected.) Just to be safe, type the names in Yahoo! or Google and see if you get any hits. If you do, you should contact the state in which that business is domiciled (located in.) In Oregon, you can do it yourself without involving an attorney, they have a web site set up for you. |

What you really need to worry about is whether the names are TradeMarked. You also need to think about where you want your stuff to be sold/distributed. Your search could cost you a lot of money if you want to be trademarked in several countries... good luck though. |

I'm not sure about copyright but try www.copyrigthservice.co.uk, you could also check with companies house to see if they are already in use, by others. the can b found on the web @ www.companieshouse.gov.uk. |
