You should never have to pay for a legitimate job opportunity. I think your husband is right. There are several sites online of people who are very disillusioned with Coastal Vacation, but there is no way to check their credibility. |

If your gut is sending you warning signals --- listen to it very closely. Please do yourself a huge favor and go to ripoffreport.com, type in coastal vacations and read some of the reports you will find.
So many people get into the travel biz now days thinking that people who book online will want your services. Getting business online is extremely difficult when you consider you are competing with services like Expedia, travelocity, plus the major cruise lines, and travel agencies.
I have a friend who has been with a MLM travel company for almost a year now and has not gotten the first person to sign on for anything, travel, a cruise or to join her team.
Also many of these services are under investigation for being a 'card mill' scam, which you can research by doing a yahoo
search on

I wrote a blog on advice for working from home that might help you in searching out a legit home based business. Most if not all "opportunities" that ask for money upfront are less than legitimate.
I would recommend trying to find something that has either no start up cost, or an optional cost which does not have to be paid if you don't want.

If you're scared DON'T do it. The time and money you put into that you can determine what you like to do and do your own thing. I love to sew. So I'm turning my love for sewing into a business. I've tested the waters in my town and people love my product. Now I'm ready to launch a web site. Through direct sales I hope to really take off this year. My biggest items will be to get some people who can sew and some people who want to make money through direct sales. I'm looking at no up front fees to start and your % is based upon how much you sale. |

Additional details. In my opinion, www.ripoffreport.com is unreliable because almost every major company has some complaint against it. It is mainly full of frustrated (most of them justified) customers. However, it is also full of people who think that everything in the world should go thier way. Major companies like Vons, Sears and Wal Mart have countless complaints posted against them. This does not make them a bad business. There also complaints posted against well known travel websites like Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz. Additionally, even reputable MLM companies like Avon have countless complaints. This is why good research is best.

I can't tell you if it's a scam or not, but I can tell you that they didn't design their own website. It's a free web template. Not that that is a bad thing. I used a web template, but I'm a home business sitting in my kitchen on my PC. Would you want to buy into my business? No, because I'm some chick sitting at my desk in my kitchen. If they have a ton of money and they are doing really well, why didn't they pay someone to design a website for them?
Just a thought!

If you have to make any payments in advance online without being able to know the people involved personally, I would suggest you stay away and follow your instinct.
Many online proposals to business are fraudulent, otherwise known as scams. |

Coastal Vacations is legitimate, however, if you are having any doubts at all, don't sign up for anything.
The one disadvantage about Coastal is that although you are getting wholesale travel, it is in certificate form, certificates that you have to activate and pay an additional fee for in addition to the taxes, port fees, and incidental fees.
If you are interested in a home based travel business, you should check out netTrav and Platinum One Destinations. Their compensation plan is outstanding and the value for your money is unbelievable.
