Thinking of running our own pub where do we go for training?
If you have no, or little experience then dont do it.. It sounds fun and the idea feels good but in reality its very hard work for very little pay. You are never off duty and the long hours take thier toll. If you are really serious then become full time bar staff then assistant managers and then house managers. This will take you a few years but it will not be your money or risk. If you dont like it or get on then you can leave, if you buy a pub or lease one then you are stuck with it if it dosent work out as planned. This can cause financial ruin, the big lease companies really dont care how well you are doing, they only want the rent and beer sales.. The training courses offered are of little or no use to the real world of running a pub. What could you learn in a week or two about running both a pub AND a business. It takes years to learn both and even then you make mistakes.

personally i would not bother

Check the job section in your local paper theres norm something in there looking for people to train the the pub trade.
I suggest that you work in a small business before you decide to do anything. Learn all that you can. Try and become a manager aswell. This will give you a sense of what running a pub will be like. Also get incontact with people who already own pubs. Ask them questions about how they do things and why.

You can go on training courses. All the relevant qualifications you will need will probably set you back approx £700 pounds.Type in pub taining courses on the net and see what comes up.

If you see a pub with a 'to let' sign contact the agents.
