myzznetta | This is for anyone that has their own home based business? |
I want to get started doing a home based business, but I'm stuck in trying to figure out what direction I want to go with this. So anyone who does this for a living could you give me a little insight as to what you do, is it worth it (meaning: is this your sole support of income), and any ideas of things that I could do as a home based business. Right now, I work in an office as a file clerk but if I could start up a home based business I'd love it...it would help with bills and other things by me being a single mom and also give me more time with my daughter. |

I answered a similiar question earlier today. Like I told them, The income opportunity is incredible in a home based business. There are a lot of different types of home based businesses that you can get involved in. Since I don't know what you like to do, I can only give you some information on what my husband and I started over six years ago. Ours well supports our family of six. We have four children ages 10, 6, 3 and 1. It's are only source of income. It also is becoming a major funding source to non-profit organizations, including the one we are one of the co-founders in called SOFTIN.
We got involved in the telecommunications industry with a world wide company that's over 15 years old. We've been featured in several magazines like USA Today, Success, Fortune etc. Inc 500 rated us the 22nd fastest growing company. They offer services that people use every day and pay for anyway, but now they can have a lower cost. Services such as local and long distance phones, Internet, digital phones, video phones (you can see the person your taking to live)VOIP, Satellite TV, and all the major cellular phone companies like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltell, Nextell etc. have partnered up with them too.
How many people do you know, or know of, that uses one or more of these services? How would you feel if you could save people money on services that they're already using and every time they pay their bills each month, you make a percentage off these bills every single month. Huge income opportunity. It's incredible how much money is involved in this industry.
If you'd like more information feel free to email me and I'll be happy to pass it along to you.
I also created a blog on my 360 page on home based business's. There's over half a dozen different ones to take a look at. Your more then welcome to browse through them. If you find one that's interesting, contact the person who wrote it and they can point you out in the right direction.

took me 10 years to find what i really enjoyed doing. I first enjoyed ebay and became a trader assist...i also had other income with a full time job. Eventually replaced that income but I've had support all along with my husband. Now I'm able to support him go back to school, he's almost done. So we are here for each other. That's wonderful but on my own I'm sure it would have been the same outcome. I never live outside of my means.
That being said you really have to have a passion for your homebased business and a drive to succeed and really plot your own plans. It's far more work than being a file clerk so be prepared. Start now and Ebay is a excellent way to learn internet sales, markets, trends, customer service, the works. Baby clothes recyle well you'll come to find on ebay.
Then if you need more income I know many who supplement with the direct sales. If that's your kinda thing but equally a lot of work to build a downline and a customer base. It's hard work. Avon, Marykay, Tupperware: stick to the tried and true branded products!
If you process data and take calls there are many jobs for home agent call center work. It's good enough income depending on your skill set to totally replace a file clerk job. If your a people person and can work with data and scripting etc...lots of support though from fellow home agents!
Also can you take care of other children in your home? Can you tutor?
So then are you left with what you really want to do....if you know what you really want to do then make that plan. If your unsure try all the above before you quit your file clerk job and give it at least 6 months.. at one of the above or all...
You would see savings in daycare, and transportation expenses and gain rewarding time with your daughter. Time that can't be bought back. So I always encourage all moms to become WAHM's it also teaches your children that you continue to work while being a Mother...and you choose to be with them...and work...wow! That's teaching some nice work ethic to them! If you have time to further you education you would probably qualify for grants and take advantage of online degrees. Or also local community college offer online classes now. So you may be up late some nights working ...most nights...but you will not have to rush out the door in the morning and miss your kids all day! You'll also be helping out Mother Earth! |

Hey - First bit of advice that I can give is this, and its what a lot of people that are self-employed will not tell you... "Let your day job - finance your new business..." Though this may seem like an obvious course of action, you would not believe how many people I consult that jump out on their home based idea and fail because they did not have a good transition plan.
When I first got started going solo, I was working for a tech company designing for web, so my first business (moonlighting) I started a freelance web design biz... I was still getting my weekly check, and started building up clients - so when it was time to cut the cord I was already rolling...
So wit that said... Make sure you carefully plan your exit... Find the opportunity that you can connect with and start it part-time until the income you are generating is matching or beating your current income, then cut the cord.
I am supported 110% from my businesses the 10% is my savings that I use to launch new projects and to continually increase the 10%!
Good Luck! I will be glad to help you if you have more questions! |

network marketing is the way to go. I suggest taking time to look around before joining one. However if you find a program that doesn't have residual income for your up line you will most likely get abandon after you sign up. |

I would highly recommend you start your own business. I did so a couple years ago and I'm loving it! I wish someone would have told me to do it sooner. I love being able to set my work schedule around our family events.
I not only started a business (with Arbonne International) for short term benefits (help out with the bills), this was something I started so that when my husband wants to retire we have another form of income.
I was able to quit my job working as a nurse to stay at home with the kids. I would love to teach and train you on how you can start your own business and make extra income. Let me know if you would like further information/web address. |

My wife and I both have our own home based businesses. We live on our income and have 4 children with 2 in college. We love to travel so global resorts network is the home based business I run and my wife loves jewelry so she works with lia sophia.
Both are great companies and our links are below. Sign up with us or someone else but you can do very well with either. Also, for training I highly recommend Dani Johnson. Just do a search for her and you wil find her site. We both follow her training.
Hope this helps. |

First and best advice: be cautious. 99.9% of companies that offer "work at home" jobs are complete scams. Do not put any money into a company promising you training or materials. These are scams. No one puts money into a job that is suppose to pay them. So steer clear of all those programs.
I run my own website and sell outdoor products. You should visit your local SBA once you develop and idea. They are a free resource offered by the government to promote the development of small businesses. Visit sba.gov to find your local chapter. |

I started a home-based business with The Pampered Chef and absolutely love my job. The Pampered Chef has been around for 28 years and is part of the DSA (Direct Selling Association). We sell quality kitchen tools at our parties. You would be your own boss, setting your own hours and scheduling shows when you want to. The income is great and there is growth potential as well. For more info, email me at chefkathy08@yahoo.com. |
