Condo newsletters, senior center newsletters, door hangers, flyer's on cars in parking lots, yellow pages (at&t will set up a website), local coupon books, yard signs (to be placed in current customers yards). All of these are fairly inexpensive, especially senior center newsletters, offer a senior discount. |

Well some my ways of advertising I sell gifts baskets, handbags, Avon, watches, jewelry etc. and I use the local newspaper as far as putting ads in or some have where you can put your flier in there, I also have a car magnet sign, or you could pass out business cards to places like apartment complexes, other small businesses, ask some hardware store if you could leave some of your cards by the counter I hope this was helpful good luck |

One of our neighbors had a fellow paint their house. This fellow noticed that we were in the middle (that's an optimistic estimate) of paint our house ourselves. He asked if we wanted a quote from him. He painted our house, built a shed for the people across the street, and finished some repairs on another's house. Word of mouth is good. Small business card size ads in the newspaper work. If your local newspaper has an ad section dedicated to specific areas, i.e. health, handy work, etc., buy one of those ads. Store, laundry, church bulletin boards only cost the price of the photocopies. |

Advertise in a lot of those small newpapers that paper the country. Usually space in them is less expensive than in the larger city papers.
Also look around for a company that maintains foreclosed properties - these companies are flourishing. They need handymen all over the country to keep these houses from turning into blight. Most of them hire handymen who have their own companies and pay flat fees per job. At the end of the year they send you a 1099.
If you offer a senior citizen discount - send flyers to all the senior centers in your town. Ask them to put them on the bulletin board so that customers will see them.
Also on yahoo front page you can click on local- put an ad in there ( all you do is put your company name and information) I personally use this to look up local places that offer services I am looking for. |
