This business would cost very little to set up. Using my knowledge of the internet, I can get a few things for free, and do some free marketing aswell.
Again using the internet and the phone, no one would see me face to face. No one would have to know how old I was.
Let me know if I am being niave please? I have a burning desire to do it now, but perhaps it would be better to wait for a while. |

Your age has really very little to do with your business.
It is the level of responsibility you posses that is the most important. I'd met just as many responsible and bright young people as those that were irresponsible con men from the age of 25 and up.
Marketing is the most important part of your business.
Under-promising and over-delivering together with your ability to deliver what you promised close second.
References from your satisfied customers will close the circle of prosperity for you.

You're going to have to be 18 to enter into any sort of contract and I would think a brokerage would require contracts. Use the time till you turn 18 to really investigate your biz plans and have everything lined up for when you turn 18! If possible, find someone who does the same type of biz and see if you can work with them to learn the biz. |

Go for it young man. I am 47 this year and going to start up my own business. I will tell you what I am doing I am going on a 4 day business course just to see the advantages and disadvantages. You never make money working for someone else. So all the best for the future. I was employed by the same employer for 30 years time for a fresh start. |

No problem with starting now apart from being too young to enter into a legally binding contract. If your service is about putting buyer and seller in touch with each other so they enter into their own contract, then your only contracts will relate to use of your brokerage service - presumably a fee to either or both the seller. There is *some* risk until your are 18 but, if you are not prepared to take a risk then you wouldn't be setting up in business. Good luck. |
