hi, i'm a 29 woman looking to start my own painting, decorating, general DIY, tiling, woodflooring, odd jobs company. My core target market would be for women, either single or in a rel-ip, that either don't have the know how or simply just don't have the time to do these jobs around the house. I aim to be affordable too and not set my work rate so high like other companies, not too low either, but in between, quality work at an affordable rate. I have 15 years experience doing this type of work as a hobby as I love being creative and getting stuck into hard work. What I would like to know is would anyone of you out there avail of this service if you needed any work done around your house?

As a woman I like most other women feel uncomfortable having a strange workman in my house (usually the gas or esb man etc...stuff i can't do myself) and I know from previous work I've done for people that 1) it's mainly been for women who live alone as they feel more comfortable and less threatened with me being in the house and working then a man and 2) I would just as happily do some work for a guy or a couple no problem, but I find most men would prefer another man to do work around he house as opposed to a woman doing the DIY etc around the house. These are from my own personal experience over the last 15 years and what I've come across and found out. So that is why I would like to set up a business that is by a woman for a women, I'm not being sexist or discriminating men, I just know from being a woman who lves alone that I would feel more comfortable with a woman doing work around my house a opposed to a man.
