I love bingo and tic tac THROW personally. Oh yea and armless pie eating contests WOO! .. people pay to stuff their faces with pie and others pay to watch and throw popcorn and blunt objects at them while laughing heartily.

Offer something most people could really use: FREE GAS!

For example: "For every donation of $20, get $100 in free gas!" You would only have to pay around $10 for each certificate, but the excess would go to your church.

Check out this site: http://www.findfreegas.net "give away free gas" page has more information.

My neighbor's soccer raised over $5,000, and only did it for one week!

Fundraising GooRoo
Hey there!

I've been heavily involved with nonprofit fund raising for years....so here are some ideas I have that could be relatively low in cost for your cause...

1) Consider a mail campaign - depending on how many mailing addresses you have, you never know how many people might respond to your cause and just write you a check! This works amazingly well for several organizations that are short on time AND resources.

2) Consider running an online auction - this is an AWESOME way to get to the people whose mailing addresses you don't have (ie you've got their EMAILS)...your email base can feel like they're using their expendable income on great stuff AND its going to their community at the same time!
I've included a link of one of the online auction companies that I've worked with...cMarket. They also have another website, BiddingforGood.com, that opens your auction up to all their members so that people who you don't even know can donate to your cause and bid on your items!

3) Instead of having a garage sale at your home, try having a "garage" sale on eBay! Think of it as a virtual way to get rid of some stuff AND make a little more money...(make sure you include the cost of shipping those items online or else you'll end up losing money!).

4) Have a fundraising event - give people in your community something to look forward to, and host a gala....you can sell tickets, have an auction, raffle prizes, etc that will give your community something to look forward to AND a perfect opportunity to donate to something they care about.

5) One last tid bit - consider selling sponsorships for your event...this can help off set some of your cost INCREDIBLY. You'd be surprised how many local businesses want to be a part of your cause-minded event! You can ask for anywhere around $500 per sponsor, and if you put your auction online, you can ask for even more than that because they'll be getting just that much more exposure through your website and event emails!

Best of luck with all of this! :)

Our church likes to plan fundraisers that involves the congregation working side by side, building community and fellowship, which is a wonderful result of having a common goal and mission.

Among the most popular fundraising programs are special events. Events can include dinner and a speaker, an afternoon bar-b-que with games, or breakfasts with devotionals. Food and service are donated and there is a charge for admission with these types of programs.

Youth programs can also get creative with special events, hosting a car wash or work day.

The main idea is to find a common daily need from among the congregation, then meet this need with a service. Everyone must eat, have their cars cleaned, or lawns mowed. And most are happy to pay a group from the church to provide the service

bake auctions are the best for my church have every family bake a cake the better looking the better and auction them off to the highest bidder. Then whoevers cake goes for the most gets to keep the profits from that one cake. Puts a competitive edge on it so everyone tries hard and normally the winner donates his money to the church anyway!

I do fund raisers using candles. Your church could profit $5 to $6 per candle sold.
Email me if you are interested.

One of our local churches just had the coolest fundrasier!! It is called a "Big or Better Fundraiser". You start with one item and then you ask people to donate something bigger (in size) or better than that item. Then once they collected all their items they had a garage sale with the items. I think that is a great idea for any organization! Way cool and it gets all the members involved!!

LTDl
car washes, bake sells, or people just donating. maybe some sort of small carnival type of things where people can come have fun and all the money made goes to the church. try to find a local band?
maybe they can play for free or small fee and make money for the church

you know
if they were nice?

Have a giant yard sale. Have everyone from the church donate their old things and then advertise around the neighborhood and in the paper. Everyone loves yard sales and churches have lots of people with tons of stuff to get rid of so the inventory will definately be there.
