If I'm looking to buy items on ebay, what time of the day would there be less people bidding on items so I can get it cheaper? If I'm selling an item on ebay, what's the best time I should post it on ebay so that by the ending time, there would be more bidders?

Different kind of items has a different "best day and time".
I sell a lot on eBay and the best research is to make a search by ended items only sorting with highest price first.
Then you have to analyze the ones which ended the highest and had bidders. You can find the best time and the best day of week to achieve about the same price.
You can also find other parameters like the best starting price, category, keywords for the title and so on. |

I have been an ebay member since 1997 and, in my opinion, it hardly matters. Some sellers will say weekends are better to end your auctions. However, many people I know reserve the weekends for family and leave the web world behind. Many single people are out on the town getting soused in their favorite bars. Sundays are good for golf, other sports, watching football games or just having fun with their kids.
On the other hand, Tuesdays have been shown to be the most productive day of the workweek for American workers. So, the way I see it and human nature being what it is, many of these same folks think they deserve a little goof off time the rest of the work week: Wednesdays, Thursdays and/or Fridays. Most often, I have my auctions end mid Wednesday afternoons but this is nothing more than a preference on my part. It has nothing whatsoever to do with thinking I will get a higher closing price.
You also have to keep in mind that most prospective buyers don’t go on ebay blindly looking for merchandise. 99% of the time, they know exactly what they are looking for and they will find your listing before the auction ends provided you are auctioning what they want. If they don’t find what they are looking for with a search, they can simply use the ‘SAVE SEARCH’ feature. When you use ‘SAVE SEARCH,’ ebay will send an email alerting you to new listings for the items you are looking for, along with the pictures and the links. In addition, many of these same prospective buyers will use SNIPE bids so they don't even have to be online to enter their bids.
Yours is a frequently asked question but, as I said, if you have what someone wants, he/she will find it before the auction ends and no matter when the auction ends. |

That's easy! List the auction to end on a weekend. Because most people don't work on the weekends, more people tend to be on Ebay. The more customers see your product, the more likely you are to find someone who's looking for your product, thus increasing competition. The more competition, the higher the bidding goes.
I buy on Mondays and Tuesdays whenever possible. People are going back to work these days,and they feel like they have a hangover from spending too much (at least that's the feeling I get). I have less competition, a higher chance of winning, and I generally win cheaply big time on these days. |

I heard the best time to sell is Sunday night to take advantage of people being home to bid at the last minute. Try sniping at the last second and you will lose more than you win. It's easier and more efficient to use proxy bidding if you want to win. |
