What are some CREDIBLE work-at-home options?

I am a stay-at-home mom of 3. 2 of mine are in school now. I don't have a lot of money to get started on something. I am not looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, either. I just want a little extra spending money for us to help out my husband.

There are so many different opportunities out there. Without knowing the things you like to do, its difficult to point you put in the right direction. Its important to distinguish between work-at-home, and home based business.

In the work-at-home category, I have met people who work as a medical transcriptionist, and people who work as customer service call center employees.

These are real jobs with an employer, not some pyramid scheme as so many home based businesses are.

I am thinking when you write "credible" in all caps, you are trying to exclude network marketing / relationship marketing companies. I really, truly believe in this form of working from home and you will find that many large "credible" companies and individuals are involved in network marketing. For example, did you know that Warren Buffett owns a network marketing company as does Citigroup?

I used to think it was all a big scam, but learning more about them over the last year and half changed my mind. If you truly want to work from home and invest a limited amount, there really is nothing better. Just make sure you do your research before you get involved with any company.

It's absolutely Free (but you will need to go through a series of tests to see if your English and Research skills are up to par).

It works like this, you need a PC with internet and Firefox. You get a popup letting you know someone texted in a question to Chacha on their phone. You research the answer and paste it in the website and it sends your text message back to them. If you are interested, you can message me and I'll send you a
referral and the website. They pay .20 per text that you answer and it takes about 2-5 minutes of research to find an answer (it isn't a fortune but a person can easily make $150 - $200 a month doing this).

I make over $750 a month but I only put about 5 hours a month into it, you can make allot more if you put more time into it.

I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you.

You are probably receiving a lot of information about possible work from home jobs. I have been in your shoes and have spent many hours online researching and trying to find the right one. The one thing that I ended up figuring out is that there are no true work from home "jobs." In a work from home job you usually start out working for a company and then for whatever reason, sometimes, the company will let you take your job home; thus work from home job. I would never pay a company to work from home.
