Both of these are websites that will help give you information on how to get started with a small business. Neither of them will tell you that you need to pay for their services. I work for a financial institution's small business department; and I refer those two sites to hundreds of customers a week. |

Start by taking a look around your city and see what's missing. Finding an untapped niche is a great way to start your own business. Make sure it's something that you are going to love doing though, because it will consume your free time and you have to enjoy it to make it successful. |

If you've never operated your own business I suggest you open a home based business that is low risk and has low start up cost. That way you can learn business principles while building capital for a traditional business if you still want to open one. I have done Avon for almost 2 years and I know of many people who sell the products to their co-workers, which is very easy being you don't have to travel to make those deliveries.
