1 - Don't fall for any scams (online or offline) - If it sounds too good to be true - it is.
#2 - I'm 44 yrs old. I've spent the past 25 years starting and running my own businesses. - Most failed within the first year. - Two succeeded and the key to that success was that I truly loved doing it, I committed everything I had to it and I'm better than anyone in the world at it.
#3 - Start your own business in something that you truly love to do... (and i mean TRULY) - Don't do it for the money. I promise you - the money will come.
#4 - In today's world - it is simple to start your own company - take advantage of this fact! If nothing else - set up a Paypal account (it's free) and buy and sell items (THAT YOU TRULY LOVE AND KNOW ALOT ABOUT)
#5 - Again the key is to be passionate about what you are doing and you won't be truly passionate until you love what you are doing. - Write down the things you love to do and analyze it to death, be honest with yourself and go from there.
#6 - I cannot make a suggestion on what you should do - I don't know enough about you and it's not my business - It's YOUR business!

You could start your own blog or site.
Run text ads, context ads (Things like google adsense http://www.blogmethemoney.com/2008/05/adsense-alternatives-part-1-of-4.html )
Or you could do some affiliate marketing (say your blog was on clothes or jewelery, you could advertise for those who sell those products and make a commission)
and there is also the get paid to write material you put in your blog/site route.
If you go that route, it can be started relatively cheaply, even free. It does take hard work and time. And do chose a topic or niche for your blog that you really enjoy. The above link lists all of those types of programs bloggers use

Would you like to work @ home in your computer? If so, you should do exactly what I do. I only have 2-3 hours a day max because of my damn school :P I´m studying industrial engineering and can´t afford more then 3 hours a day working.
I have earned little over $1400 the past two months doing this and I know nothing about computers, it took me two days to figuring out how to sign up for this site :)
At least watch the videos, they are free...

There's also points to be earned that can be redeemed for giftcards and other great prizes!
