I'm a little bit interested as to what others will say in regards to this topic. Here's what I've found... Almost everything that you can do from home through any site that offers jobs online is generally a scam. There are a few sites that are somewhat legit, but the truth of the matter is... The best way to make money on the internet isn't to do a job offered through some website online... it's not data entry or anything like that.

The simple truth is, if you become your own boss, that's the only way you're ever going to make decent money online from what I've found. You may make a few dollars here and there, but I've yet to find anything that would count as a primary source of income. If you really want to work at home, on the internet, the best thing you can do is build a website and sell products. You don't even have to sell products. In fact, you can just advertise for other companies that sell products. How?

Well, you start a Blog for instance and in that blog you talk about taking care of dogs for instance... You sign up as an affiliate to some pet care stores and if you can start driving traffic to your website, you'll eventually end up getting commission of the things people buy from your affiliate sites. It's not an easy process... and it's not fool proof. If you sit down and plan it out though, you're not looking at a huge investment (if you build it yourself), and you can probably get by paying someone else to design it and still not have a HUGE amount of investment... So no, it's not fool proof and it can certainly tank, but if you do a fair amount of research before you start, this is the best way that you can make money online. It puts you behind the drivers wheel.

The business model that lends itself perfectly to working at home is affiliate marketing. If you can generate leads/sales for a service/product of a company, that company doesn't care if you've done that from home or from their offices or elsewhere.
The most viable option, in my opinion, is building a website, or a simple blog, on a specific topic that is interesting to you. You have to be passionate about a subject to be successful in the long run.

Once you got a medium/high traffic website on a subject, you can monetize your website/traffic using host of programs:
- Google AdSense and similar programs
- Affiliate marketing: advertise other products. You can find them in affiliate network websites like ClickBank or directly join the affiliate program of the company.

In selection of the affiliate programs, you may want to consider only websites which already receive high traffic. Check out alexa.com to check their traffic rankings (if it's below 80,000 or 60,000 let's say, they receive a descent traffic). Then, try to find complaints against the program, in sites like complaintsboard.com. Remember, there are always some complaints, just check whether there're too many. Hi, it's sadly ironic that a lot of the answers are from people trying to drive you to their own affiliate or get rich quick scam sites. This tells you about making money on the internet, it's chock full of losers trawling YA and other community forums trying to get people to click through to their site so they earn 2 cents. Hey friend. In my experience online, by far the best way to make quick serious cash is by joining affiliate programs. There are so many out there that pay an extremely high commission. All you have to do is market other peoples products. There are tones of ways to market for free. I promise this is not a scam. There are legitimate companies out there with products they need marketed, and it is cheaper for them to market the products by having affiliates do it for them and just paying out a commission. That's where you come in.

When I got started I had no Idea what I was doing. So I took a quick online coarse on how to be an affiliate. It walked me through all the basic steps, where to go, what to do, and even what to say.
