I'm fed up of my boring weekend job that pays buttons and treats me like rubbish. I've always wanted my own business either to set up a party supplys shop in which I supply everything you can think of for a party or to own a hotel in Llandudno, wales. My fiance is a chef so we've always said he'd do the kitchen part and I 'd do the rest. I really want a change I'm bored in my career right now I'm cracking up. Can anybody give me some advice. |

Dont set up a business unless you really know what your doing. It could ruin you financially. I'd recommend that you work in the hotel industry for a year or two to get some experience and then, if you can secure adequate funding, maybe you could look at buying a hotel somewhere. |

There's actually lots of things you can do from your computer, wherever you are. I've tried several things over the years before I finally settled down with a company that actually pays every month. You might get a lot of suggestions here on answers. Just be sure and research each company thoroughly and if they don't offer a money back guarantee, move on. Jennifer |

Llandudno is a extremely expensive but there was a job going for a bunkhouse in Betws-y-Coed maybe you would do better considering running a place and seeing what you think of it first. the bunkhouse job was advertised in the Job Centre section of the Pioneer, it sounded like you'd pretty much be running the place. |

if you have the money then go and see your estate agent for a look at whats for sale and then take it from there,if you don't have much money then you will need to put together a business plan and see your bank manager for a loan.Then go hotel hunting. |

Start by talking to a banker about a small business loan. You're going to need capital- your banker can look at your financial situation and help you set your target. For example, buying a hotel in Wales is going to take a lot more outlay than leasing a storefront and buying party supply inventory (although that's going to be costly too). Once you've picked a direction, you'll need to develop a business plan- i.e. how you'll bring in revenue (and how much you can expect) vs. your expenses and costs. Doing these exercises will bring you closer to realizing your dream- and give you much better focus. Good luck!! |

Create some questionnaires and do some market reseach asking if people would use that type of business. You can do the questionnaires by post of in the street. Create a target market and ask these types of people. Who are you going to aim your business at? All this information will help you to discover if there is a gap in the market for your proposed business.
Find a location for your business and create a business plan. The business plan should include the finance of the business - how much will you need? where is it coming from? etc and what will the start-up and running costs of the business be? This allows you to plan ahead. You can get different types of loans from the bank but it would be best to ask them about this as part of your planning.
You need to think about what supplys you will need and which suppliers you will get them from - you may want to ask if they would supply them to you before setting up your business.
Setting up a partnership with your fiance may be the best thing that way you can share the work load and it will be less pressure on both of you. Also, you can both put ideas into the business and both specialise in what you are best at. But will you need staff to operate other parts of the business?
If you are really determined to do this you can make it happen with some hard work (as I can tell the process of setting up the business may not be easy, however, it would probably be worthwhile in the end.) Good luck, and I hope things work out!!! xxx |
