I think ebay is a pretty easy way to start. After you get the hang of selling through eBay, you can sell your items through Prostores. |

well, what do you want to sell? you have to know that first. then go to yahoo and they'll have a business package to get you started. they have a web page creator and everything. one of the things to consider is the form of payment you accept, like credit cards and paypal.
good luck. |

I did this for a class and it was pretty easy. Start with Yahoo store. It's really easy to set up and there is lots of information on there about requirements, tax and license info- and you can try for a few weeks for free. Plus you get the added benefit of being in the Yahoo search engine.

Well there are a lot of steps to consider. It depends on a lot of factors too, such as do you already have your own items to sell online? If you already have your own items to sell then you should check this out:
http://www.webcashlink.com/ecommerce-solutions-packages.html
If you dont have your own items to sell, then I would suggest making a content site and make money through advertising, or selling digital products such as ebooks. I have written a simple step by step course on how to start an online business at:

Hope that helps. :) |

Hi.
When starting an online business there are many things to consider. Do you have a product you would like to sell or are you planning on selling an existing product as an affiliate marketer? Do you have a budget or will you be raising capital later? You will nedd to spend money in order to make money. Are you someone who would like to spend a lot of time at home or do you prefer the commute. Some people really do, I know it sounds nuts but they do. These are all things you will need to ask and answer as you begin. Plenty of people are making money online, working at home, running an online business. So you probably can as well. But be careful!! There are lots of scams out there! Dont pay for anything untill you have read the free ebook Dotcomology !!
Here is the link to the free download:

osCommerce, Open Source Online Shop E-Commerce Solutions offers a free online store software.
In my opinion, you should start by selling through eBay and then build up your store based on your success. |

A simple online store with a website is really much easier to create than most people think. I have freelanced a few and I really stress before I charge my clients that they are able to do what they want without my help! But they insist that they cannot, and this is how I supplement my income.
The easiest way to get started is to open a web hosting with Yahoo (you're welcome Y!) You need to get a domain name, which Yahoo will prompt you for when you sign up with web hosting. It comes with really easy software to create your website Y! sitebuilder. It's practically cut, paste, and type! Once you have the site up, you can charge using paypal (you're welcome ebay!) It's cheap to start out with until you get off the ground! Good luck! |

First you have to decide what to sell and to whom you are going to market your website/online store. One of the tricks of the trade is to develope a website with a store attached. It gives people reason to keep coming back to your site thus providing additional sales.
Try to sketch out what you want the site to look like and what areas you would like to have. Keep in mind that websites are nothing more than antimated books so try to keep it brief but interesting.
Then you have to decide if you will design the website and keep it up to date or will you hire someone for this venture.
Best of Luck. |
