Most are destroyed, they cant be bothered to repair them and they don't want someone who was going to pay the full price for them getting a bargain by fixing it themselves.
The manufacturing costs of most goods is very small compared to the final retail cost. |

repairs are made if possiable,and resold.damaged or broken,are salvaged for good parts.items like computers,sme cameras,and other items,are repairede at the factory,and sold as refurbashed as new,but sold as refurbashed.
jewellery made in other countries are sold by the
lot numbers.jewellery has such a high mark up
that some dimond rings that sells for $ 15.000
might be bought from a wholesaler at $400.00
Costume jewellery is bought by bags full.

Most likely they do one of these things. Sell it off as "damaged goods", send it to discount sellers, or send it back to their suppliers for credit to their account. What the suppliers do with it at that point, I do not have a clue. Hope this helps. |

Well usualy fashion designers would mark down damaged item by quite a bit and put these items in the back of the store, jewlers on the other hand would melt down the metals again and it a diamond was chipped they would either sell it at a reduced price or cut it down to a smaller diamond, if it was a small diamond that broke they can always cute it down more to make cutters for factories or make a fine dust which can be used to cut through other diamonds |
