First: a hotel
Second: a license to operate as a hotel in the state you wish to provide services in.
Third: Extra cash to pay bills, employees, etc.
Fourth: Employees
Fifth (and this is the hard part): customers
You should probably also have a business plan, financial advisor or accountant, a degree in hospitality from a university, and a mentor or two (potentially your investors) who know how to run a hotel. It might not be a bad idea to start off as a hotel employee, learn the ropes, move your way up and then set out on your own.
PS: Don't forget to vote for best answer. It doesn't look like a lot of folks are interested in giving you much help in this catagory. |

You need to be able to find a suitable place to build, or, if you are going to use an older building, you will need to be able to do any repairs, (if any are needed,) which means that you will naturally need a lot of money. You should also try to find out how much to charge, which depends on what type of hotel you want. (a fancy hotel, or a hotel that's near the freeway.) You will also need to be able to employ a lot of people, and to advertise. I'm sure there are other things that I am leaving out. |

You don't need to have a lot of money.That's what lenders are for.You'll be better off buying and existing hotel.Most of the time the seller is willing to provide training. |
