Ebay is just like any other public business. I have had good luck with it but you run into your share of kooks, too. It will take you a while to develop your own tips. If you are in the US then don't sell outside the US. Ever. Advertise your stuff critically and honestly, and ship it the day of the sale or the day after, and you'll be ok. |

I've been buying items on ebay for years, but I was a bit intimidated about trying to sell anything, but today I made my first sale! A few days ago, I listed some movie memorablia I'd had for years and no longer wanted, and the auction closed this afternoon. My buyer paid me within an hour via PayPal, and I'm shipping his purchase today. It was a very easy process, and ebay walks you through all the steps you need to follow.
One thing I didn't know and found out almost by accident -- you need a Premium PayPal account in order to accept all types of PayPal payments. I had a Personal account, and it's super easy and free to convert it to a Premium account. You also need to link your ebay ID to your PayPal account (which is also easy and free).
Good Luck! |

i have bought and sold on ebay for over 3 years and tho had a few customers who were a pain, for the most part it has been a positive experience and have made thousands of $$--to do well as a seller, u must keep a 100% positive feedback--show them u can be trusted....i have bought lots at below, way below, retail.... |

It's been positive for me.
I've had an account there for a few years now.
Most of the people on there are just honest people that are trying to sell/buy stuff.
The most important thing to do is check their feedback!
You don't want to buy from someone who's feedback is bad. |

I use eBay off and on and have had a pretty good experiance. I also have never had any problems with Paypal.
It's a good way to get rid of items as well as finding them. |

I have been blessed to buy from some good honest sellers but my husband on the other hand has been shafted by sellers on a lot of things.(One buyer charged ALOT of stuff to his credit card that we had a hard time fighting). I think it's a good place to make decent money if you are an honest person. |

i prefer ebuyer and amazon myself as they are quicker delivery and majority of the time better quality and cheaper price |

I have bought and sold on ebay. There are a lot of things that can go wrong when selling, in particular. The best advice I can give is to go to the community message boards and READ, READ, READ. It will tell you an awful lot about what can and does go wrong and gives lots of advice on how to prevent it.
I am sure that from doing this, it has helped to maintain my 100 % feedback score.
Good luck if you decide to go ahead. |

At one time, I was totally addicted to Ebay. Now.....it's lost it's novelty and occasionally I will look to see if I can find some good buys on vintage clothing and accessories. |

On average, I've had a pretty good experience with selling on eBay. I've had a few folks not pay for what they bought, but most do, and so long as you ship in a timely fashion, no worries. I personally ONLY accept PayPal as a form of payment for ease of use, quick transactions, and so I can have instant access to the funds via my PayPal debit card. I think if you have the right items, it's a great place to make a nice little wad of cash when you want to. |

I bought some stuff off of it but not huge fan. I don't think you should buy stuff because mostly things are cheap but they are in very bad condition. |

I found eBay to be an ok site....but unless your selling something very very unique or plan to spend an arm and a leg you get lost in the shuffle...check out: http://www.livedeal.com
it was started by the same guy who started eBay...one of the benefits is that when someone goes to it it brings up local sellers 1st...then sellers from other areas...so you can make easy local sales. |
