I think they are just like any other consultant. Usually kind, pleasant and have your best interest at heart. They are trying to sell a product that will enhance people's lives and they work very hard to create an atmosphere that is positive and fun.
They are people who have realized that the only way to enhance their net worth is to have a salary with no cap on it so that they are free to invest and bring their networth up even higher. I admire that spirit. |

I hated them at first, all of my friends were doing it and having parties and etc... and then I actually researched Mary Kay Ash, what an incredible determined woman she was (By the way she'll be on A&E Biography this Friday) and what the benefits were. I signed up, and my life has never been the same!
I have been through Hurricane Katrina, and my Mary Kay adopted units sent me enough supplies to get through... I have moved three times, and every time another adopted unit has taken me in. They are compassionate, wonderful, and hardworking women who know that all you have to do to achieve is dream and turn those dreams into a reality.
I now have a weekly meeting where I can attend and see my MK friends, a fabulous part-time income so that I can afford the best, a business of my own, and I am working towards my first free career car. I couldn't have asked for anything more! |

Many are very high energy and first impressions can lead you to think of them as flaky, valley-girl types. But, to be successful in Mary Kay, you have to work HARD! Its not MLM, so recruiting alone does nothing for you. You actually have to be good at selling your product. I know many women that do it for the discount and maybe a couple of extra bucks. I also know 3 pink cadillac drivers. I know many in between. Every single one is different and I don't think you can lump the consultants as a group, unless it's to say that they are trying to improve their lives and the lives of others. |

I don't know any personally so I can't comment.
It seems like a very lightweight job to me. I would guess that less than one in one hundred that sign up to be one actually make a success of it. I would help to have lots of sales experience and be able to work and get sales in an indepenant way. |

I think they're like Tupperware consultants, PartyLite consultants, Avon consultants, etc., etc. They're trying to sell a product. |

It's like all of the other MLM's. They talk up the success stories of how someone is making tens of thousands a week, etc. but talk down the fact that you can only do that if you can get tons of people signed up under you, and they sign up tons of people, etc. and how only a tiny, miniscule percentage of people actually really make a lot of money. |

I love them! The ones I know are all nice, caring, compassionate women. As with anywhere in life, you will find some that won't be your best friend, but the majority of them are great people. |
