You should rip them off the bastards |

And the real question is... why are you letting them?
They keep raising the price because they know you will let them take advantage of you.
The solution is to STOP getting your sandwiches there. |

send someone else in and see what they charge. i doubt that they have singled you out to charge you more. |

This is why everyone shops at Tesco and Asda nowadays, because these 'little old' stores that everyone keeps crying over are bloody rip off merchants!
Go to Tesco - much better range and a cheaper too.
I wish more people would protest about rip off local shops ripping people off left right and centre.
Tesco is on OUR side, making everything cheap and looking out for us.
They could undercut Tesco easily if they wanted to by making their own sandwiches, but they're too lazy and prefer to rip off people. |

that would be 2.50 in US dollars. and I'd say thats pretty reasonable in todays world. You can't get a sandwhich much cheaper. although, i'm not really sure what they are doing with the prices, sounds a little weird. You should ask them one day. |

Maybe they aren't ripping you off but the other consumers. Maybe they are giving you a better price than they are the other people in the shop have you considered that? They could be charging you 1.80 while they are charging the guy behind you 2.10. Have you asked about the price hike? Give it a shot or here's a novel idea go somewhere else that has prices you prefer to pay. |

I don't care let them get profit, unless it's really an outragous price I'll go to the next quick-E-mart |

Exercise your right to go somewhere else - you cannot be ripped off if you don't go in.
Go to the supermarket, spend a few £ on a loaf of bread and some filling and make your own sarnie - you'll save a bomb. |

Are they legally required to post their prices? In the US, for example, they must. How about UK?
Are you sure they are charging different customers different prices for the EXACT same thing? It is a very common practice in some countries (one price for family, another for "the clan" or those of their ethnic group, and another for outsiders/foreigners). Is this an ethnic restaurant or deli? They may be continuing a common practice from home without realizing it is an extremely offensive, and usually illegal, practice, in Western countries. Or are you suspicious, but have no proof? Without proof, you have no case, and no just cause to say anything to the owners.
As for rising prices, despite declines in asset prices and some commodities of late, the price of food marches inexorably upward. Too many people, too little food. The price of food has nowhere to go but up. This planet simply cannot provide enough food and water for seven billion people. Competition for resources always boosts the prices. Also consider how hard it is to find fresh tomatoes and lettuce in UK in the middle of winter.
Only say something when you are sure of your ground! Proof mandatory before opening mouth or you will only insert your big fat foot in your mouth, and regret it. |
