What is a good business to open?

Ok so im going to school to get a BA in business managment I am majoring in business and minoring in either Marketing or advertising (im not sure yet) But after i graduate i plan to open my own business, i want have much money to start on, but maybe enough for a small building. I dont know yet if im going to move to florida or cali or anywhere big, but right now im living in a small town in tennessee, so if you have any good business ideas im open to suggestions.

Open an EBay store or ProStore and sell things that you know. Get wholesales by contacting the company product for example if you want to sell IPods then call or email Apple offical site. It hard at first but once you get it running it easy to do. Get UPS so they can help you pack up the packages and ship it to the customers. I made a lot of money on EBay so maybe you can take a shot.

Have you considered starting a home based business? One that will generate profits while you are in school so that when you get out, you will have money to fund your business..I have one and love it!

no matter what you chose for a product line or service , make sure it's of interest to the people who live in that area.No since in sinking money into a Tiffany's type store when your clientele are bargain hunters,or vice verse.Your general public will break or make you, just got to figure out the latter.

Hello Jacob D, first of all in marketing you will learn about finding a target for your goods or services offered, once you have identified this target research how many others are supplying the same goods or service in the chosen geographic location. Once you have done this you will have a rough idea of how much competition you face, before starting your business, poll your prospective custmers, find out what they would like from a business, be it cheerful proficient service, discounts on bulk purchases etc. if you can offer something other suppliers cant you have an edge. keep your start out costs as low as possible, perhaps working from home initially, this will enable you to keep customer costs down and encourage more people to come to you. good luck with your plans i hope all goes well, p.s. one thing you need though, enough money to live on for a year safe in the bank, as it is a well known fact you probably wont make any profit for the first year and may even make losses and this is why so many small businesses fail in the first year. Whoops, nearly forgot to mention, avoid network marketing at all costs, the only people who make any decent money out of it are the ones at the top of the chain, open your own business and get all the profit not just a small percentage of it.
