Hi there. I think maybe I can give you a few helpful tips.
I would like to suggest that instead of finding some random home-based business idea, to instead start with what your hobbies and interests are currently. Then forming that into a home-based business.
The truth is there is no limit to the number of home-based business opportunities. Sure, you can't open a full fledged store or something, but pretty darn close.
If you like clothing, you could get into selling clothing (I don't recommend it though). If you like... languages, you could start a blog about languages.
When I first got into business I was so adamant about finding what was the most profitable business. What would bring me the fastest money. I learned quickly that this is the wrong starting point (most of the time), instead you should focus on what you really love and THEN find out how to make the money come that way.
Anyways, I recommend you google or get a magazine/book on "500 Great Home-Businesses" or something similar. There are a lot of lists out there.
Be careful though because a lot of people out there are trying to sucker everybody into their little scam or something like that. Shy away from the "filling out forms" or "clicking ads" type of businesses and focus more on starting your own business selling something.
But with all that being said, I say go for it. Pick a good idea that appeals to you and set it up and give it a good solid try. There isn't really much to lose with a home-based business so go for it.

There are freelance opportunities available which are genuine, but u have to bid for them and compete with the wages and hourly rates. list of such opportunities can be found here: http://outsource-guru.blogspot.com/ (for freelance outsourced jobs).
Also there are few home based transcription work, where in you get the data in images or audio form and u need to convert them back in text form and upload. list of such opportunities can be found here http://genuine-transcriptionjobs.blogspot.com/ (for Transcription jobs) Here also you'd be competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so don't expect huge wages for such jobs, but still it might be good enough to start with.
If you don't want to put in much effort then there are some earning opportunities like receiving calls and uploading videos and some more freelance links you can try http://guidecash.blogspot.com/. Well no matter what you do you will have to take it up seriously and work hard initially to make good money from it. |

I've tried a few things before (selling type of online jobs) and none of them worked. I finally found a legit one and I don't have to sell anything. I make about $800 / month on average working part time from home (I work as a Landscape Architect full-time) 99% of the people who respond to these posts either work for a Multi-Level marketing company, or an affiliate internet marketing company. Very few people actually make the money they say they do so never believe anyone unless they can send you a copy of their check!

I think you have the good choice, working home, you can control your time and yourself freely, but selling things on ebay might not be that easy as you thought because of the high Competition, so it's hard to make big money, you have to keep on open mind, read here
