Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can. Here are some book titles that are relevant:
* Writing a Convincing Business Plan by Arthur R. DeThomas Ph.D., Lin Grensing-Pophal
* The Definitive Business Plan: The Fast Track to Intelligent Business Planning for Executives and Entrepreneurs (2nd Edition) by Richard Stutely
* The Complete Book of Business Plans: Simple Steps to Writing a Powerful Business Plan (Small Business Sourcebooks) by Joseph A. Covello
* The One Page Business Plan with CD-ROM by James T., Jr. Horan
There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.

A business plan is just what it says - a plan for how a business is going to be run; what it's going to make or sell, how it's going to make or sell its product, where it's going to be based, etc. It should cost everything to make sure that it's going to make a profit.
There are professionals who can draw-up a plan for you. It may be helpful to do a websearch for "small business advisors" in your area. |

A business plan is your idea for a business,it will involve your idea,your intended market,sales,costs,potential profit and how you see your business grow in the future.
Normally you write this yourself but there are probably people on the net who can write it for you.
If your under 25 your local training & enterprise council have people who can help. |

A business plan is just that, a plan for your business. A good business plan is a document you can take to a banker (or investor) and after reading it, the banker (or investor) will know what your business is all about and will be willing to loan you money (or invest in your business).
You can hire an attorney or a company specializing in business plans to write a business plan for you or you can write it yourself. If you do it yourself, I recommend that you can pick up a book about writing a business plan in any bookstore. There are many books that are specifically tailored to the type of business you are starting and they will have sample plans that you can adopt to use as your own. |

Helen a business plan, is literally, a forecast on how much money will the business make (normally for the 1st year)
so it includes, out going and incoming,
outgoing will include things like
rent
insurance
stationery
advertising
incoming will be made up of your sales from the business
dont be disheartened by the stupid people who drop insults, you stick with it, if you need a hand then drop me a mail and should be able to set up a spreadsheet template for you.

When you want to do your business then you plan your business and then work to plan. This helps you to track what is happening in your business so corrective actions can be taken from time to time. And don't get discouraged by what people tell you about not knowing business plan, because many great, successful businessman have no business plan and yet they have succeeded. Any high street bank will get you free information on this as well as some banks will give you free software to write one. Some banks have dedicated cells to help small businesses. |
