Check your employee handbook under "insubordination."
If there's nothing there, you can go the verbal warning, written warning, out the door route, depending on the serious of the infraction, or, depending on your state, you may be able to fire the employee. |

I agree, termination. When there is dissention in the ranks it can spread rapidly if this person bends the right ear. No use for someone like that in the company, no matter how accurate their perception of the owner. |

you should have a specific path of verbal, then written warning for insubordination. The written warning should contain the consequences for repeated violation of the same infraction (being disrespectful toward owner). That way it's spelled out....you've done this before and were verbally warned, you did it again and now it's documented. One more time and you will be suspended/terminated, etc. |

You need to have a write up system. j
Three write ups and your fired.
You need to sit down and write out the rules as well. Maybe an employee handbook of some sort. Make sure you have them also sign that they read the handbook |
