First of all ignore all of these people saying something like a 12 year old can't make money. If you look at the statistics, young milliionaires are getting more and more common. I began studying business when I was 10 years old, and am now 15. I would suggest you bookmark my website, businesstips101.com and read the books: Rich dad poor dad and Rich Kid Smart Kid. Both are by robert kiyosaki. Also read cashflow quadrant, also by kiyosaki. It will tell you the disadvantages of getting a job. You don't want to get a job. This sound's crazy now, but once you read the books you will understand. Keep in mind that this is not a get rich quick scheme. |

well the only thing you would be able to do, like mentioned, is cut grass, babysit, etc... I don't think many company's are going to hire a 12 year old. You are going to have to start a business of your own for the summer. |

Aside from the "mow lawns" standard answer, which I know you have considered, there are other easy ways to get started and make some money.
Wash residential windows. You can get started for about $25. To determine pricing, call a window washer and ask how much it would cost to do your home and then adjust your price accordingly.
Buy a set of stencils and various colors of paint and then paint people's house numbers on the curb sides. Place a simple flyer detailing your services and cost, along with a phone number.
Try those and make some money fast! |

I would suggest a small candy store. My daughter has one, she sell's a variety of things. I put up the initial money which ranged from $10-20.00 , and once the kid's start coming they do'nt stop. I would suggest pre-packaged things like donuts, cookies and juice boxes along with the candy, they sell quickly and you can use the money for summer trips and school clothes. |
